Inpop Records has announced that Phoenix-based rock group Sky Harbor will join Stryper on their 2003 Reunion Tour. Sky Harbor will open for the legendary band on five of its US tour dates beginning on November 1 in Austin, Texas.
We were flabbergasted when we heard we were on for the Stryper tour, said Sky Harbors front man Garth Bostic. Its an honor to be playing with a Christian band that rocked the decade we were born, and paved the way for other bands who want to reach kids with the gospel.
Sky Harbors debut project, Who Would Have Guessed, released on September 2nd to excellent reviews. The record features ten songs written by the band, whose members are all under 20 years old. In addition to a national radio and press campaign, marketing for the project includes special retail promotions on both a national and regional level. Consumer awareness for Who Would Have Guessed has been generated though a cross-promotional effort with Festival Con Dios: Volume 3, which features the bands single In Stereo, along with hits from award-winning and best-selling artists such as Newsboys and Plus One.
Sky Harbor is currently performing as part of the 2003 Festival Con Dios Tour, and will continue touring throughout the fall and winter. They will perform with Stryper on the following dates:
