Articles for the December Messenger are due Sunday, November 15. If you have any articles, thank you notes, etc. please put them in the Messenger box outside the church office door or email them to Chris Pokorny at clpokorny@aol.com. Please plan on helping get our church building get ready for the Advent and Christmas seasons by taking part in Deck the Halls on Sunday, November 22 immediately after coffee hour. We will also wrap our gifts for the children at Leland House during Deck the Halls...

Chicago North District Churches Forge Forward
Within the Central Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church, our congregations are grouped in geographic districts for purpose of fellowship and mission. Edgebrook Covenant Church is part of the Chicago North District, which is made up of 13 Covenant Churches, all located on Chicagos north side (except one: Sojourner Covenant in Evanston). Heres just a brief update on some of the ways we have been uniting together in recent months.

Here it is almost year end, and we have so many things to catch up on for the year! We are still collecting for Christmas gifts for the children at the Leland House names are still available and there are many openings for the $20 gift cards. In addition, we are still making blankets for the mothers of these children. We would like to have all our Christmas gift preparations done by the Giving Thanks Dinner at church on November 15. Then we would like to have a Gift Wrap Workday at church on the following Sunday, November 22...

Calling All Knitters, Crocheters, and Sewing Enthusiasts!
Edgebrook Covenant Church has a "crafty" ministry -- crocheting, knitting, and sewing to provide hats, scarves, mittens, sweaters, blankets, toys, and baby clothes for needy families to be distributed through a variety of ministries in Chicago, across the United States, and overseas. Well supply the patterns, training, yarn, and fabric you supply the time, heart, and care.

Serving Our World - One Stitch at a Time!
The Crafty Angels had a wonderful time on Saturday, June 13 looking at all the very creative yarny goodness created by Julie Scigalski, Margie Chan, Carol Flowers, Debbie Kreusch, Cathy Jones, Doris Ahlstedt, Sandy Rice, Alma Wamsley, and Chris Pokorny. We not only had yarny goodness, we had yarny magnificence! Join us at our next meeting on August 15, 2009 at 10:30am at Chris Pokorny's house at 6357 North Leoti Avenue in Chicago for a time of fiber, food, fellowship, and fun as we plan projects for the rest of the year...

Our church is blessed to have so many families with children, however, kids will be kids! Parents and adults, we need your help to teach our children proper respect for our church! How can you help? Here are a few suggestions: ·If you see a child running in the sanctuary, stop and explain that this room is where we worship God.
