Christianity.com Expands Vision with New Name, Starwire

Starwire Name Change to Reflect Past Successes and Increased Web-based Network Market Potential


- - HAYWARD, Calif., May 15, 2001—Christianity.com Inc. today announced its corporate name change to Starwire Corporation in order to reflect the growing demands for increased technology offerings. To date, Christianity.com has enabled churches, ministries, and non-profit organizations to build and maintain Web sites on its robust managed network infrastructure. Today, the company will continue to serve organizations individually through the Christianity.com Network, and has expanded services to include the building of additional Web-based networks for organizations that can best be served by a network of their own.

“Through the expansion to Starwire, we will in fact be creating a parent company that will serve a broader purpose,” said David Davenport, CEO of Starwire Corporation, formerly Christianity.com Inc. “Many of the Christian organizations, and even a few secular organizations, have been asking us to design custom networks to help them fully reach their online goals. We are pleased to be able to serve in this new way.”

Since its inception, the Christianity.com moniker has served as both the company’s corporate identity and as the name of its primary network. As the company moved forward, its network technology garnered significant interest from both non-profit organizations and commercial companies seeking their own Web-based network infrastructures. The name Starwire more accurately represents the company’s service offerings, thereby clarifying its position in the technology market.

“Think of Christianity.com as a banquet table. We invite all kinds of Christian organizations to pull up a chair and share the food that they brought with one another,” explains Davenport. “Now envision a room with many other banquet tables where organizations can reserve a table of their own—this is one way to differentiate Starwire from Christianity.com.”

Since the beginning of the year, Christianity.com has met its sales goals through serving 2,200 network partners and by building Web-based managed networks for both Crosswalk.com (Nasdaq: AMEN), the largest stand-alone Christian portal on the Internet, and Sawyer Media Group, a commercial Web-based media asset company. The Christianity.com Network continues to grow in size and breadth just as Starwire is poised to continue building networks for non-profit and commercial organizations.
