Starwire's Christianity.com Network Joins with Michael W. Smith to Promote "Worship" CD Project

- - HAYWARD, Calif., September 24, 2001--The Christianity.com Network today announced that it has partnered with Michael W. Smith to promote his “Worship” CD project and Songs 4 Worship tour through a special Web site: http://www.mwsworship.com. The site was created apart from the official Michael W. Smith site in order to highlight this unique project and expand its reach of “Worship” within the Christian community. Officially sponsored by Compassion International Ministries, the “Worship” site offers users a forum to share their thoughts and feelings, the opportunity to buy the CD, concert dates for the Songs 4 Worship Tour, and a “Worship” contest where contestants can share what the worship experience means to them in order to win an autographed “Worship” CD. In addition to the CD giveaway contest, the “Worship” site also features a chance to win a 10-minute phone call with Michael W. Smith.

“Worship music is a true passion of mine,” said Michael W. Smith “At the beginning of the concert where ‘Worship’ was recorded, I asked that God would somehow change my heart and take me to another level of worship that I’ve never been to—and he did. This unique Web site will help ‘Worship’ reach even more people with the Good News.”

The http://www.mwsworship.com site was designed to reflect the creativity of the “Worship” CD cover, which is an original work of art created specifically for this project. Additionally, due to the “Worship” Web site’s placement on the Christianity.com Network, the site will have greater reach within the Christian community by allowing many other prominent Christian organizations to syndicate content and link to the contests from the site.

“This project is very personal for me,” said Dave Jaworski, President and CEO of Starwire. “I recall one of Michael’s concerts where he led several worship songs—it moved me deeply and I will never forget it. This album is like that concert—full of praise for the Lord. I am grateful that we can help expand the reach of ‘Worship’ to an even wider audience.”

Michael W. Smith’s “Worship” CD debuted in early September and is followed by a ten-show Songs 4 Worship tour (presented by Proper Management, GET Management, and Creative Artist Agency) where Michael W. Smith will be performing with Darlene Zschech, Don Moen, Nicole C. Mullen, Caedmon’s Call, and Watermark. This tour is an extension of the best-selling Songs 4 Worship TV continuity series, a partnership between Integrity Music and Time Life Music.
